The Europe Conference is a family conference, and the Children and Teens programs have always been an integral part of the conference. This year is no different and we are excited to welcome Refuge 139 and Jenn Swift to lead the children and teens program.
Refuge139 supports missionary families during conferences, by ministering to their children through fun, fellowship, worship, prayer and biblical instruction.
Refuge 139 gets its name from Psalm 139:9-10, which they refer to as the missionary kid Psalm:
“…even if I settle on the far side of the sea, even there Your hand will guide me, Your right hand will hold me fast...”
MKs live in a variety of contexts often away from their parents’ home country. Refuge 139 is a program that creates a safe environment for these MKs to grow together and grow in their relationships with God.
From the Swijnenburg family: In the winter of 2020 our family was working with Wycliffe Bible Translators, and we had a training for our whole team. Refuge139 provided a children’s program during that week and our kids loved the vbs-style program. To play, sing songs, do crafts and have a space to be TCK’s together. We’re looking forward to having Refuge139 provide an amazing time for our kids at the conference this summer!
We are also excited to welcome Jenn Swift back to provide a program for the teens. Jenn led the kids' program for many conferences in the past and it is an honour to have her come back and further invest in some of the kids she has known for many years.
